Field Policy

Douglas Hospital Grounds
The Douglas Hospital grounds are ESSENTIAL to Ultimate in Montreal. It is private property. We are allowed to play there only by the good grace of the hospital administration. We cannot stress enough the importance of maintaining excellent relations with not only the hospital personnel but also everyone living in the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Our future use of the Douglas grounds DEPENDS upon every player's exemplary behaviour. We must all conduct ourselves, in every respect, as model citizens.

It is mandatory that we respect and obey every condition of this field policy, without fail, without exception:

  • Use of the fields is restricted to SCHEDULED AUM tournaments, league games and practices ONLY.
  • Everyone must leave the fields by 21h00 SHARP!
  • Alcoholic beverages are STRICTLY prohibited.
  • The trees and bushes throughout the hospital grounds are NOT toilets. Go to the washrooms at the Summer House or the port-o-lets. We mean it!
  • Please refrain from using coarse language.
  • On PAPA, QUEBEC, ROMEO, OSCAR, MIKE, ALPHA (all close to the neighbors), please be respectably QUIET. If the neighbors complain about noise, we will lose these fields.
  • On OSCAR, set up the field no closer than 20 yards from the closest neighbor’s fence.
  • On QUEBEC, if a disc ever goes into the garden, PLEASE retrieve it without causing any disturbance. Please treat the garden with extreme care and respect.
  • Do NOT park in RESERVED spots or on the grass. There are plenty of parking spaces.
  • Do not litter. Leave the field cleaner than when you found it.
  • Keep your dog on a leash.
  • Clean up after your dog.
  • Observe the speed limits and stop signs on access roads.
  • Respect any request made to you by the hospital staff or security personnel.
  • Some fields are shared with cricket players. Please DO NOT walk or place anything on their stone dust pitches.

CAPTAINS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMMUNICATING THIS ENTIRE POLICY TO ALL THEIR PLAYERS. NOT KNOWING THIS POLICY WILL NOT BE AN EXCUSE FOR TRANSGRESSING ANY OF ITS CONDITIONS.

Douglas Hospital personnel and all AUM Board Members and members of the Executive Committee are empowered to cite any player for failing to meet any condition of this policy. Any PLAYER who fails to meet any condition of this field policy will be IMMEDIATELY SUSPENDED and risks EXPULSION pending a review by the AUM Board of Directors. Any TEAM whose player or players fail to meet any condition of this field policy also risks SUSPENSION or EXPULSION from the tournament.
