Information
The Montreal Ultimate Association is hosting a college and university tournament on May 1st, 2011. This one day tournament is open to all Quebec CEGEP and university students. Teams are invited to register for either the OPEN (men) or WOMEN's divisions. Each team will play a minimum of three games. One winner per division will be crowned at the end of the day. Games will take place on the fields at collège Saint-Jean-Vianney. The one day tournament format will permit teams to participate even if they have fewer players than usual, which should facilitate the recruiting process.
Cost: $150 per team.
Eligibility rules
We realise that it is difficult to recruit a team when the eligibility requirements are too strict. We have therefore decided tp facilitate the process by expanding our criteria. Our eligibilty requirements for this year are:
- All players on all teams must be students (all players who are currently in post-secondary studies are eligible).
- 50% or more of players on each team must be full-time students.
- Players on any team do not have to be students at the same institution. Ideally, each team would represent a specific institution, but this is not a requirement.
- Each team may have a player/coach. This player is the only player who does not have to be a student.
Please be aware that because we have expanded our player eligibility, we realise that teams who participate in this tournament are not eligible for Canadian university championships.
We would like to know how many teams are interested in participating in this tournament. If you are building a team and are interested in registering, please send an email to jl.champagne@montrealultimate.ca before April 23th, 2011. In your email, please indicate:
- The name of the contact person for the team
- The city and school/institution you will represent
- The division in which you would like to play (Open or Women's)
Teams who have expressed interest in the tournament will receive an email regarding further details about official registration. If you have any questions or comments about this tournament, please contact Jean-Lévy at the above-mentione email address.

Fall 2010
Hello students,
The 7 on 7 season is not yet over! To the contrary, the university Ultimate calendar is chock full! This year, the four Montreal universities (UdeM, UQAM, McGill and Concordia) will be represented by both Open and Women’s teams at the Canadian Ultimate University Championships (CUUC) and will participate in the inaugural Quebec University League.
If you would like more information, please contact the coordinators and visit the Ultimate universitaire section of the AUM website. The university series is a great initiation to competitive Ultimate or to continue your path towards excellence!
Do not miss this chance!
University and College indoor Tournament
The Montreal Ultimate Association is proud to host the first edition of an indoor University and College tournament.
This tournament will take place on March 6th and 7th, 2010, during the Montreal en Mars tournament. Teams from all over Quebec and Ontario will participate in this friendly, but hard-fought competition.
After the success of university tournaments like the October 2009 Montreal CUUC and the last edition of Les Jeux du Commerce, we feel that Quebec Universities and Colleges are looking for chances to compete against one another and Ultimate seems to be the ideal sport for this amazing competition!

Canadian University Ultimate Championships
McGill Ultimate is excited to announce that it was awarded the opportunity to host Canadian University Ultimate Championships (CUUC) in Montreal on October 16-18, 2009 at the Douglas Hospital Fields.
The CUUC is the final tournament of the university series in Canada which supports both a men’s and women’s division. It is preceded by Canadian Eastern University Ultimate Championships (CEUUC), which will be held in London, Ontario on September 26-27, 2009. In order to participate in the Canadian university series, a team must be made up exclusively students from the university it represents. CUUC 2009 expects to attract 30-40 teams, totaling approximately 600 students encompassing every field of study from all corners of Canada including Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec.
An event of this size requires many volunteers and sponsors. We are searching for individuals interested in volunteering for CUUC 2009. Come out and see the top university teams, including four Montreal universities, fight for the top! We need score-keepers, time-keepers, water delivery and barbeque experts. If you are interested, please contact Kirsten Niles at cuuc2009@canadianultiamte.com.
Montreal's team standing
Université de Montréal - Women team
The Université de Montréal women’s team travelled to London, Ontario this past weekend to compete in the CEUUC, which is the precursor to the University Nationals, which will be held in Montreal from October 16-18. It is the first year that there is a UdeM team (which actually comprises of U de M, HEC, UQAM, U de Laval and ÉTS students!), and after 4 short weeks of practice, we felt ready to meet the other teams in eastern Canada. We started out ranked 10th out of 12 teams, but after going 4-1 in pool play, with only a universe point 11-10 defeat to the University of Ottawa Lady Gee-Gees, teams started to take the Ultime Divas more seriously! The team cruised into the finals with a 15-2 and 15-1 win in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively to set up a rematch against the Lady Gee-Gees in the finals. The game did not start well for us. After giving Ottawa a 9-1 lead, the 13 Divas dug deep and fought their way back into the game. We just ran out of time, losing 10-8 at hard cap, but extremely pleased with finishing second at our first tournament!
