2011-2012 Season

Wednesday night league at Loyola Campus.

The Men (open) league and the Women league will be made of 12 teams.  Each team will have between 13 to 16 players, taking into account the fast level of play of this division.  Teams will be created after a mandatory tryout for every registered player (detail of the tryouts will be send to registered players).  The AUM won't limit registrations and the players who will not get drafted will be reimbursed entirely.  Captains of Open and Women teams (chosen by the AUM) will create their team after the tryout session. 

The coed competitive league will be made of 10 teams (4 teams in the Competitive A division, 6 in the B division). Each team will have 12 players, 7 men and 5 women. Registration is limited to 120 players.  Teams will be created after a mandatory tryout for every registered player (detail of the tryouts will be sent to registered players).   The 4 captains of the A division will make their team by drafting players among everyone who is registered, then the 6 captains of the B division will make their team by drafting players among those who were not drafted in A.  ALL registered players will be drafted in a team.

The development (initiation) league will consist of 6 teams of 12 players each: 7 men and 5 women. Each team will have 2 experienced players who will be teaching ultimate to the new players and will help others with their skills and strategies. The rest of the team will be composed of 10 less experienced players. Registration is limited to 72 players. Drills will take place before each game in order to help players with their skills and strategies. Teams will be created through a draft process. All 4 captains will make their team by drafting players among everyone who is registered. This is the best league to work on your technique and learn new strategies!

The 4x4 recreational league will consist of 12 teams in 4 divisions (A-B-C-D), we a reranking between every round.  4x4 is played either 2g-2w or 3g-1w, offense choice.  You can see the specific rules here (in French only, sorry).  Each roster must have a minimum of 6 men and 4 women, all AUM active members.

OVERVIEW

• There will be 4 time slots: 6pm, 7:15pm, 8:30pm and 9:45pm (randomly assigned to the teams)
  • Teams of the same division should be playing at the same time slot and there will be an alternation for time slots..  For example, if you play at 6pm the first week, you will logically play at 7:15pm the second week, and at 8:30pm the third week.
• There will be two sessions of 10 weeks each.
  • Session 1, from Nov. 9 to Jan. 18 (no games on Dec. 28)
  • Session 2, from Jan. 25 to March 28
• co-ed 5x5 competitive and beiginners, 5x5 men (open), 5x5 women, co-ed 4x4
• Individual registration and team registration (see all the cost for each league at the end of this webpage)
  • 2011 Membership is required for Session 1 (reduced price at $20 for two months, November and December)
  • 2012 Membership is required for Session 2
• 40 teams spots: 120 spots in the Men (open), 60 spots in the Women, 120 spots in Competitive, 72 spots in Development, 12 4x4 teams
• The captains will proceed to a draft to create the teams in the Competitive and Development leagues (ALL registered players will be drafted on a team)
• The captains will proceed to a selection to create the teams in Men and Women leagues
• First come, first serve! (except for Men and Women leagues)

REGISTRATION

SESSION 1 and/or SESSION 2:

• To register for Session 1, you must be an active 2011 AUM member.
• To register for Session 2, you must be an active 2012 AUM member.

  • 2012 membership fees will be available online starting mid-December.

• Women pre-registration: (in order to help us better calculate the capacity for men's registration): registration will open on Monday, October 3rd, at 11am (approximate time, it could be a bit later, thank you for your patience and understanding).
• General registration: registration will open on Thursday, October 6th at 11am (approximate time, it could be a bit later, thank you for your patience and understanding).

• You can register for more than 1 league at a time - but in order to do so, you will need to fill a questionnaire for each league you will register in and pay separately for each registration too.
• Competitive or Developpement: First come, first serve basis, registration will close once full capacity is reached.  The AUM can create a waiting list.  You will be told if you are registered on the waiting list.
• Open / Woman: the AUM won't limit registrations, but registration will close on October 14th in order to plan the tryouts.
• IMPORTANT: To be considered ‘registered’, you must have filled the player’s questionnaire AND completed your payment. It is the payment that confirms your registration.
• For the people who want to play on the same team: please make sure to mention it in the player’s questionnaire. But please be aware that we cannot guarantee that you will be playing on the same team.
• For the people who are interested in becoming captain of a competitive team or captain / coach of a development team, please make sure to mention it in the player's questionnaire.  The AUM will have the final say on captain nomination.

SESSION 2 :

If you have missed the first registration period:

• Registration will reopen on December 15th, at 11:00am.
• Registration will close when the maximum capacity is reached. 

COST

Taxes included for each 10 weeks session, payable through the AUM website by credit card only:

• Session 1 Coed and Developpement = $130 + 2011 AUM membership
• Session 1 Open / Women = $110 + 2011 AUM membership (more players per team)
• Session 1 4on4 league = $500 / team + 2011 AUM membership

• Session 2 Coed and Developpement = $130 + 2012 AUM membership
• Session 2 Open / Women = $110 + 2012 AUM membership (more players per team)
• Session 2 4on4 league = $500 / team + 2012 AUM membership

Combined cost for 2 sessions of Competitive or Developpement:

• $250 + 2011 AUM membership (session 1) + 2012 AUM membership (session 2)
