La saison NSOM 2012 débute!

Après une saison 2011 enrichissante lui permettant de consolider ses bases et de graduellement s’imposer comme équipe Masters #1 au Québec, NSOM invite tous les joueurs de niveau masters à participer à un match amical de haute intensité sur terrain 7x7 intérieur.

• Lieu : Stade Hébert - Dôme (Directions)
• Coût : Sera défini selon le nombre de joueurs présents (on devrait avoir une meilleure idée la veille mais apportez de l'argent comptant ou un chèque)
• Format : Hat (On fait les équipes au hasard)

INSCRIPTIONS

Objectif de la saison:

Brièvement, NSOM veut donner l’occasion à tous les joueurs éligibles au Masters (33 ans et + cette année) de pouvoir goûter (ou continuer de jouer) au ultimate compétitif en plus d’assurer une relève pour la Division Masters à Montreal. Nous espérons aussi offrir la meilleure opportunité aux joueurs de Montréal de se rendre en Floride pour les Championnats de la USA Ultimate.

Plus de détails seront présentés suite au « Scrimmage » du 11 mars. (Format club, attentes, tournois, etc…) 

The Big Day

Sunday July 10th, a week after finishing 8th at the Montreal Jazz Tournament, NSOM was heading to Quebec City for the long awaited match up against Quantum, on their home turf in order to represent the province in the Masters category at the upcoming Canadian Ultimate Championships.

For the first time of the season, NSOM had a full lineup so it is with a silent confidence that NSOM showed up in Quebec City. The weather was sunny and windy, calling for zone defence and hucks….Would NSOM’s experience be enough to tame Quantum’s high intensity? NSOM, contrary to their habits, started off real strong scoring the first three points. Quantum, taken aback, took a first time-out. Afterwards, NSOM continued their inspired play by scoring more upwind points and playing intense defence forcing Quantum to try long strikes even against the wind. NSOM kept their lead and even dug a little deeper to end the match 12-6.

Quantum, not dead yet, started the second game strong scoring the first two points. However, NSOM’s experience and calm allowed them to come back strong, gain momentum and turn things around to suddenly find themselves up 5-2. This turn of events seemed to shake Quantum but they never gave up. However, NSOM continued their strong play, showing lots of poise and judgment even in front of a boisterous partisan crowd. NSOM finally took over the match in the end to gain their spot at the Nationals with a convincing 15-7 win.
