2012 Captain's meeting

The 2012 Summer league Captain's meeting will be held this Friday, May 18th, at the Auditorium Rousselot (local DR-1119-1) of the Notre-Dame Hospital, located at 1560 Sherbrooke East, Montreal , QC, H2L 4M1. The meeting will take place from 6:30pm to 8pm.

You can enter through two separate entries:

  • Entry Pavilion Lachapelle
  • Entry Deschamps Pavilion
  • we will post signs to help you. The room is located one floor below the main entrances.

2012 discs will be on sale ($ 12 for one, $ 100 for 10) and you will receive gifts! See you all on Friday!

The AUM is offering an introductory Ultimate clinic with skilled and passionate teachers who will help you discover the sport of Ultimate, or simply to appreciate the sport even more, as part of a night that is Just for Girls.

Disc Golf Event

The ADGM invite you May 19th 2012 at ADGM Open that will be held in Ignace Bourget park (5925 de Montmagny, Montréal, 10 min of walk from angrignon metro station). For the 5th edition the tournament director created a special course that will only be played for 1 day!

You never played? It will be the perfect day to learn with other advances players!

You don't have any disc? The recreational and junior category will receive a brand new disc and if you're playing on a higher division we will lend you some!

Protection of natural grass fields

During this period of spring warming, there is a strong desire to get outside and play, and to get together our teammates for preseason practices! However, please be aware that playing in cleats for just 10 minutes on a natural grass field at this time of year can damage it for the rest of the season!
 
Our natural grass fields need time to recover from the hard winter. They need to absorb all the water that has accumulated, and the grass needs time to really become established.  The AUM asks that you please avoid playing on natural fields in cleats until at least mid-May, when we will give you the okay to get out on the field. Thank you for respecting the green spaces of Montreal - they are few and far between!

Summer league

You missed the evening of registration? AUM still offers you the possibility of joining our summer leagues. To take advantage of this offer, you have to write to Mikaël Lacombe at m.lacombe@montrealultimate.ca and he will guide you for your registration to allow you to play this summer.

Take note that the period of registration for the 5vs5 is still open and that you can register by filling the form of registration. As for the 7vs7, we always have some places available for Wednesdays and Thursdays evenings (Monday and Tuesday = complete!). It is your chance!

A "black belt" in Ultimate is not required in order to mentor new Summer League teams. Your desire to share your experience, and uphold the virtues of Ultimate and Spirit of the Game are essentials that make you a great mentor.

University and College Ultimate

The University and Collegiate Spring Cup took place on April 29, 2012. Four men's teams and four women's teams based out of Quebec universities faced off in heated competition, with the wind as the main obstacle... Congratulations to the UdeM women and the UQTR men, who finished the tournament with a perfect record of 3 wins. An honorary mention goes to the UQAM women and the UdeM men, who won the Spirit awards!

See you in the fall for the Canadian University circuit!

Comedy of Errors Tournament

Registration is now open for the traditionally festive tournament, Comedy of Errors! Don't miss your chance to take part in this colourful competition! We will accept up to 32 teams, coming from Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes and more! Ask yourself what will hurt more after the tournament: your calves, from all the running, or your abs, from all the laughter! See all the bids we got so far!

See you June 16 and 17th, on the fields of the Douglas Hospital!
