Women's development activity
You are a woman (18+)?
You enjoy playing league and want to improve your skills?
Would you like to become a more confident player?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, our women's development activity is for you!
What is it?
In this weekly clinic (10 weeks), two experts coaches will help women improve their level of play and knowledge of the game.
Each week there will be:
15 to 30 minutes of skills, drills and technical tips.
30 to 45 minutes scrimmaging in a 5 vs 5 format during which the coaches will provide individual feedback.
This activity is designed for league-level players looking to improve their skills and/or those who may be interested in learning more about competitive ultimate.
How will I improve?
Each week the coaches will focus on a different aspect of the game, from throws, to cutting, to defence. You'll learn something new and then immediately put it into practice in a game situation.
Players will touch the disc much more frequently than in regular league play, and the coaches will be available to provide feedback throughout each session. You'll also have the opportunity to be coached by some of the most experienced coaches in Montreal!
Jean-Philippe Riopel - Among other things, JP is a physical education teacher; a player for the Montreal Royal; owner of Specific Ultimate; head coach for McGill Ultimate women's team; an assistant coach for Iris; and the strength and conditioning coach for many Montreal-area teams including Vintage, the Montreal Royal and Team Canada Women's Masters 2016.
- Alison Fischer - A long-time women's player and leader in the Canadian ultimate community, "Fish" has captained and coached women's teams for almost 20 years, including Storm, Vintage, and Team Canada Women's Masters 2016. Fish has competed at six World Championships, with three silver and one gold medal to her name.
