It’s now confirmed; hell is in Montreal !!!

2012 EDITION

Interested in developing your game to a level of international competition? Join the program that has produced either a champion, semi-finalist or a quarterfinalist at every CUC since its inception 16 years ago. Last year, despite a roster with 17 new players, Mephisto continued its tradition of representing the region at CUC and winning three tournaments in Quebec and the Northeastern United States. Demon improved radically in 2011, including a 3rd place finish at Jazzfest, and just missed out at CUC in a hotly contested qualifying group. Agony introduced many players to competitive play for the first time.

The program 2012.

This year, Mephisto intends to grow further to regain its perennial role as a challenger for the CUC Championship that will be held in August this year in Victoria BC. This March, Mephisto will hold a two stage open tryout. Mephisto intends to put together the strongest team possible. Mephisto has attended all World Club Championships since the team's existence and, looking to next year, Mephisto sets a goal of qualifying for WUCC again in 2014.

Demon expects to continue its rise and sets a goal of being Montreal's number two team in 2012.

Agony will continue to be an entry portal to competitive play for aspiring competitive players in Montreal.

All three teams in the program learn and employ strategic systems from teammates and leadership who previously played on National Championship teams - Mephisto, GOAT, Furious. The development system offers all players a solid foundation. The program also offers advanced coaching which enables players to reach an elite level as quickly as possible. Mephisto 2011 had 13 players who previously played Demon. Mephisto captains intend to coach at all Demon practices and each Mephisto player will mentor a Demon brother and each Demon player will mentor a brother from Agony in a supportive and sharing environment. The practice schedule includes shared practices and scrimmages.

Demon, Montreal’s competitive open team, started is 2010 season last weekend in a very positive way at WMO. Considering the participation of many high quality teams at the tournament, Demon managed to get a couple of wins and ended up having a good tournament.

Most important, this tournament allowed team bounding and skills perfecting as many of the players in Demon are at their first season in the open division. Here are the results for the weekend:

Saturday :

Sunday :

The games against Bloody Gary, Magma and Q2.0 were really good on the experience side. They were tight and intense games. We learned a lot about what it takes to be able to win and we add the opportunity to apply and practice all those skills that we need to get better in order to get even better result for the remaining of the season. Those teams are direct opponents for the open division spots at CUC and we will need to fight inches by inches against those fearless opponents. Our next tournament will be at Boston on June 25,26.
