Ligue d'automne 2010
The fall league in Longueuil kicks off this week.

If your team has never played in a league using the 5-on-5 format, we would like to invite you to a brief training session that will be held on the grass fields adjacent to the turf fields at Collège Français, from 6-6:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and from 7-7:30pm on Wednesday (August 31, September 1 and 2).

Tournoi Oktoberdisk
Bonjour à tous,
Ultimate St-Jean organise son premier tournoi intérieur cet automne sur gazon synthétique. On travaille fort pour faire de ce premier tournoi un évènement auquel tout le monde voudra participer.
L'ouverture des inscriptions aura lieu le 25 août. Seul critère pour l'inscription: être l'une des 24 premières équipes à s'inscrire. Pas de chèque à envoyer, tout sera sur le site web.
Storm
Storm wins Canadian Nationals!
At last weekend’s Canadian Ultimate Championships held in Sherbrooke, Storm took home the gold, with a resounding 15-6 win over Stella from Ottawa. Now in its 8th year of existence, Storm has always reached the quarter-finals, and has been in the semis-finals every since year 2006. In 2008 in Calgary, Storm made it to the finals but unfortunately lost to Stella 15-11 in a hotly contested battle. This year, the team was formed in early April, in order to prepare for its participation at WUCC in Prague. Under the tutelage of our coach, Lorne Beckman, Storm had an impressive debut on the world stage, finishing 13th. However, our goal for 2010 was always to win a nationals championship.

Parc Marquette
Maintenance work for the first official ultimate field in Montreal is moving forward! Located in south Rosemont, Parc Marquette will be leveled and once the work is done, the field will be reserved for Ultimate related activities and other special events. Here are some pictures of the progress:

The Montreal Ultimate Association, in partnership with Déclic Loisir, is organising the Ultimate Rendez-Vous!
This activity will be an improvement on the traditional Sunday afternoon pick-up games, as an animation and babysitting service will be offered for FREE! Moms and Dads can play, knowing that their kids are close by and being taking care of!
You've never played Ultimate and like discovering new sports? Our animators will be on site and will be teaching the basics of this great sport, from throwing skills to game situations!
Great Canada Game
Last Saturday, July 17th, Montreal played host to the Great Canada Game. After visiting 23 cities all over Canada, starting in Yellowknife, the game finished with a victory for the White Team, 253-251!
It was in Montreal, between 10 am and noon, that both teams surpassed the 100 point mark. We would like to thank everyone who participated in this game.
The first hour saw HARD (Montreal) in White taking on Big Fish (Ottawa) in Red. The hour began with the Red Team leading 90-85, but finished with a much tighter score of 96-94 for the Reds.

If you wish to be a substitute for the AUM leagues, we invite you to add your name to the list using our database. It is very easy! You simply edit your on-line profile in the My Account page. You can then add your availabilities in the Player Subbing tab!
For captains looking for substitutes, you can see the list of players availabilities through the ULM. You then use the filter option for Search for subs or players to narrow you search for subs. Simple, practical and efficient!
